A strange name for a fragrance you may think! Back in the fifties,the four
big US cosmetics
brand were Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Helena Rubinstein and Charles Revson's Revlon.
As you can imagine, the rivalry was immeense,and Arden couldn't even bring
herself to call
Revson by his name, instead calling him " That Man ". Charles
decided to give the name to
this men's fragrance, ehich must have really peeved Liz!
Named as a riposte to Elizabeth Arden about Charles Revson.

エスティー・ローダー、エリザベス・アーデン、ヘレナ・ルビンスタイン、そしてチャールズ・
レブソンのレブロンでした。当時の激しかった競争が思い起こせるように、アーデン女史は
レブソンの名前を呼ぶ時に、" That Man " (あの男）と呼びました。そこでチャールズは、
エリザベスを悩ましたこの男性フラグランスの名前として命名したのです。
